DIY - painted bag
Say hello to my new camera bag! It felt good to bought something for the sake of function, rather than just aesthetics alone. Although, that doesn't mean you have to look ugly with your functional accessories. The bag was originally in another color but I decided to give a personal touch by painting them in black. You can find leather paint in your nearest arts & craft store. If you're in Singapore, you can look for DYLON shoe coloring (yes, you can use it on anything made of leather) at artfriend. I applied only 2 coating of paint, just enough to have a thick black color but still have that raw brush strokes surface.

fantasea
New hair for the new school semester, courtesy of my multi-talented friend Lulu. So far, it has turned from dark blue to turquoise. I'm excited how it will look like a month from now. Until then, I'll be listening to Azealia Banks, the original 21st century aquababe.

tropical suburb
It's been ages since the last time I hit the beach. I figure, since Jakarta has been as extremely sunny, so why not dressed like as if I just arrived at some amazing hotel lobby facing a gorgeous stretch of white sand and clear blue water. Maybe not today that I feel the cool breeze, but hopefully for my next holiday. In the mean time, I decided to seek out my own paradise at my friend's backyard. Spending quality time with your close friends is definitely way more priceless than some weekend tropical getaway.

DIY painted shoes
Back with another DIY post, I'm continuing my experiment with painting fabrics. Since my trial with the jeans wasn't exactly a complete success to me, I decided to try with my old shoes. I've had these pair of shoes for years. It is such a shame if I had to dump them, yet at the same time even donating them wouldn't seem appropriate considering how damaged they were. So I'll try to give some new life into my old shoes.
- a pair of old shoes
- white wall paint
- water
- brush
Here are the steps,
1. Untie any shoe lace to make it easier to paint
2. Use the brush to paint all surface of the shoes
3. Apply a bit of water to thin out the paint
note: the thicker the paint applied, there will be more cracks developed all over the shoe surface
Wear them around your house for the first few times until all the cracks appeared beautifully, as you don't want to be walking around some party leaving a trail of dry paint. But after a few days, it'll be just fine!

50/50
What I hate about the holidays is slowly saying goodbye to each one of your friends who had to go back to their daily normal routine (e.g. college life) earlier than you have to go back to yours. Although on the bright side, my friends and I always tried to do some farewell activity to cheer up the mood. This time, it was a relaxing late lunch followed by some mall-hopping action for the rest of the day. Nothing like being accompanied with good food and surrounded by great friends to make me see the glass half full. Anyway, I'll see you soon Maureen! :)
