With the end of semester assessment just a few weeks ahead, I'll try my best to keep up with the blogging. In the mean time, you can see some of the stuff I've posted on my instagram account, including some sparkling-goodness I managed to get my hands on from the Anna dello Russo at H&M collection launch :p Using this app is definitely handy when you're not exactly in the mood to carry a heavy dslr camera during a night out in town or on the way to buy materials after class. tropical suburb

It's been ages since the last time I hit the beach. I figure, since Jakarta has been as extremely sunny, so why not dressed like as if I just arrived at some amazing hotel lobby facing a gorgeous stretch of white sand and clear blue water. Maybe not today that I feel the cool breeze, but hopefully for my next holiday. In the mean time, I decided to seek out my own paradise at my friend's backyard. Spending quality time with your close friends is definitely way more priceless than some weekend tropical getaway.

What I hate about the holidays is slowly saying goodbye to each one of your friends who had to go back to their daily normal routine (e.g. college life) earlier than you have to go back to yours. Although on the bright side, my friends and I always tried to do some farewell activity to cheer up the mood. This time, it was a relaxing late lunch followed by some mall-hopping action for the rest of the day. Nothing like being accompanied with good food and surrounded by great friends to make me see the glass half full. Anyway, I'll see you soon Maureen! :)

bloggers do it better

Just before I was sick, I managed to attend a blogging workshop held by NYLON. It was a great learning experience for me, to understand a new perspective of the 21st century fashion world with insights from Anindya Devy, senior fashion & beauty editor of NYLON and a few top Indonesian fashion bloggers.

Aside from very helpful tips & tricks, I also learn how blogging could extend from just a fun hobby into a real job like becoming writers and even fashion designers. Thus, what better way to explain that then by having the NYLON team picked 5 blogger-turned-fashion-designers to showcase their collection as installations for other mall crawlers to enjoy.

My favorite brand from the ones that were showcased during the event is LESS.AND.MORE. The brand was developed by the super edgy Heidy Kalalo of fashion-maverick. What I love about their clothes is how its very much suited to my approach in styling these days. Classic clothes with a sexy twist. Like the black formal pants with grey lining to give a sport-luxe feel to it, which I absolutely adore! And after a lovely chat with the designer and her assistant, I'm 100% a fan :D

back to nature

 

The Goods Dept is moving to another location and to celebrate it, they held a closing sale. If I was able to be there earlier, I might have bought a denim vest that I had been targeting for a while but it was too late. Fortunately, I still manage to get this awesome moss top by Nikicio. A quirky t-shirt/short-sleeve sweater with knit lining, and added zipper details. Looking forward to more unique creations by the designer, especially with their upcoming fashion show in mid July.

night outs

Either with college projects or busy internship schedule, a little time off from the laptop screen is a great sigh of relief! That's probably why I have been missing my weekly refreshing walks around Orchard road that I can't exactly have here in Jakarta. Although in return, I can have my fun night outs and catch up with my high school friends that I haven't seen for months, which is awesome! To those who are also on holiday, have a blast!

brightspot market #8 part 2

As I've promised, here are some photos from the Brightspot Market. Amongst the pile of unique local products scattered within the space ranging from furniture to baby clothes, what have really caught my eyes are the following; dinosaur necklaces from mannequin plastic, acrylic rings from rope, floral docmarts, and fluoro-transparent bags from camicia. It has been fun to go around with fellow interns and met friends along the way. I hope you guys had some fun too!
